In his own words…

Covid-19 has accelerated the need for businesses to transform through digitalisation, enabling us to work smarter and more efficiently.

What do you think the biggest challenge is for Chief Financial Officers today?

The pandemic has clearly demonstrated the need for companies to be more agile and efficient. It’s important that we innovate and equip our employees with the digital tools they need to ensure the company’s continued success, whilst providing employees with more flexible working arrangements. This will challenge the traditional thinking of finance leaders in how we plan, manage and deliver on the objectives of the function. It will also provide quality information and support to our customers within the business.

How is the digitalisation of the economy affecting the way we operate?

There is no doubt that the process of digitalisation is affecting almost all aspects of the economy. Covid-19 has accelerated the need for businesses to transform through digitalisation which is enabling us to work smarter and more efficiently.  It has also required businesses to change the internal control framework that they operate within and turn to more system and digitally embedded controls.
